About the position

The position involves operating a lift in a freezer environment, focusing on inventory management and safety compliance. The role is essential for maintaining efficient operations within the shipping department of UNFI, a company dedicated to transforming the food industry through innovative practices and a commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

• Reports to the shipping office at the beginning of each shift for daily assignments and vehicle inspection.
• Inspects assigned lift and completes vehicle inspection sheet.
• Replenishes pick slots using the view request screen or manual replenish screen.
• Performs knockdowns for selectors when needed.
• Maintains correct counts and logs any discrepancies in inventory.
• Verifies that the correct product is being put in the appropriate pick location.
• Cuts and removes shrink wrap from all knockdowns.
• Removes all empty pallets from pick locations and aisles, separating them into good, bad, and blue pallets.
• Keeps area clean and free of debris.
• Operates the lift in a safe and efficient manner.
• Parks and recharges lift in its appropriate spot at the end of the shift.
• Immediately informs a lead, supervisor, or manager of any potential safety violations or violations of company policy.
• Performs duties in accordance with HACCP and SQF policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Starting pay rate of $18.75/hr with a pay increase at 6 months and 1 year.
• Ability to operate a lift safely and efficiently.
• Knowledge of inventory management and replenishment processes.
• Familiarity with HACCP and SQF policies.
