Freezer Associate- 2nd

About the position

The purpose of the position is to transfer product into and out of storage areas, pick product for customer orders, and load product to trailers. The role involves reading, interpreting, and applying Warehouse Management System (WMS) order instructions, recognizing and correcting potential process errors, and ensuring product accountability throughout the logistical process.

Responsibilities

• Read, interpret, and apply Warehouse Management System (WMS) order instructions.
• Recognize and correct potential process errors before actions adversely affect the customer.
• Recognize damaged product at any point in the warehousing process and take appropriate action when discovered.
• Pull orders accurately as assigned.
• Stage orders according to carrier location and verify number of pallets picked and stage location.
• Prepare receiving, storage and shipping documentation retaining product accountability throughout the logistical process.
• Enter data into WMS computer systems.
• Participate in ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies.
• Coordinate work to ensure B.E.S.T practices with all team members.
• Attend appropriate team meetings.
• Foster strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues.
• Identify areas that lack cohesiveness and work with the team to resolve issues.
• Maintain familiarity with Simmons' established operating systems and communicate concerns and improvement ideas.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of warehouse experience.
• Intermediate knowledge of MS Office (Word and Excel).
• Working knowledge of WMS systems.
• 1 year related warehouse/freezer experience or 1 year experience with powered lift equipment.
