About the position

The Army TADSS Maintenance Program (ATMP) is a critical role focused on the maintenance, sustainment, operations, and support of Army Training Aids, Devices, Simulators, and Simulations (TADSS). This position involves working with a variety of training devices and systems, ensuring they are operational and effectively maintained to support military training needs. The role requires advanced technical knowledge to troubleshoot and repair complex systems, as well as the ability to document maintenance activities accurately.

Responsibilities

  • Repair electronics in various training devices including the AH-64D Long Bow Crew Trainer and UH60M Blackhawk Trainer.
  • Apply advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems beyond standard manuals.
  • Use spare/repair parts to repair faults according to technical guidelines.
  • Perform PMCS, troubleshoot, and isolate faults in training devices.
  • Prioritize and work on Deficiency Reports (DRs).
  • Assemble and maintain training device sub-systems.
  • Generate and address discrepancies observed during working hours.
  • Prepare and pack devices for movement when required.
  • Clean training devices and surrounding areas as needed.
  • Monitor and track repair status of inoperative equipment and document maintenance activities.

Requirements

  • Must be able to gain access to military installations.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret complicated drawings or schematics diagrams.
  • Ability to apply handbook formulas and utilize information from technical manuals.
  • Physical ability to stoop, bend, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to climb stairs and crawl through limited access spaces as part of maintenance tasks.

Nice-to-haves

  • Two-year technical degree or equivalent related training in maintenance and operations of flight simulators.
  • Experience with aviation and simulation systems.
  • Proven hardware and software support experience in a training/modeling and simulation environment.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and operate test equipment such as oscilloscopes and volt/ohm meters.
