About The Position

The Forklift Operator will operate an industrial forklift truck and Stand-Up Forklift to accomplish various materials handling assignments. The operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle and may also be required to perform order filler and checker duties. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Satisfactorily pass forklift and stand-up forklift driving training program or demonstrate safe handling of forklift in an on-site test.
  • Minimum 1 year experience as a forklift operator.
  • Ability to maintain single task focus and situational awareness.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Ability to handle equipment and vehicles safely and sensibly.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be able to move and lift to a 40-pound wooden skid or pallet.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies and transports requested materials to and from various locations including machines, loading docks, trucks, and storage areas.
  • Obtains production schedule and/or shipping orders and then identifies, verifies, and transports requested raw materials, equipment, or processing materials accordingly.
  • Applies understanding of machine loading capacity and loading schedule, ensuring prompt and efficient delivery of required items.
  • Uses protective materials and strapping equipment to protect and secure loads and for other duties as needed.
  • Removes strapping and wrapping for delivered materials then safely disposes of waste materials in designated containers or areas.
  • Reports any problems with materials or transportation to supervisor.
  • Manages and piles drums, skids, pallets, and other supplies in specified areas.
  • Services equipment as needed, reporting mechanical or electrical difficulties to warehouse leader or supervisor.
  • Performs other related duties as requested.
  • Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety.
  • Comply with OSHA and MSDS Standards.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
