Position Summary THE MATERIAL HANDLER / LIFT TRUCK OPERATOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SAFE AND EFFICIENT HANDLING OF MATERIALS WITHIN A FAST-PACED MANUFACTURING ENVIRONMENT. THIS INCLUDES OPERATING VARIOUS TYPES OF LIFT TRUCKS TO MOVE, LOAD, UNLOAD, AND STACK GOODS IN WAREHOUSES, PRODUCTION, AND SHIPPING/RECEIVING AREAS. THE ROLE SUPPORTS INVENTORY CONTROL, MATERIAL TRACKING, AND ENSURES THAT PRODUCTION LINES ARE SUPPLIED IN A TIMELY AND ACCURATE MANNER. A FOCUS ON SAFETY, ACCURACY, AND COLLABORATION WITH CROSS-FUNCTIONAL TEAMS IS ESSENTIAL TO SUCCESS IN THIS ROLE.

Requirements

  • Work rotating shifts
  • Ability to lift, bend, sit, stand, and walk for extended periods
  • Work both indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
  • Handle physically demanding tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Follow instructions accurately and maintain focus on safety
  • Work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision
  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
  • Lift truck/forklift experience
  • Knowledge of safe material handling procedures and warehouse operations
  • Knowledge of lift truck operation and routine equipment checks
  • Knowledge of inventory systems, barcode scanning, and basic documentation practices
  • Knowledge of workplace safety protocols and PPE requirements
  • Proficient operation of lift trucks and related equipment
  • Attention to detail in inventory movement and placement
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

Responsibilities

  • Operating various types of lift trucks to move, load, unload, and stack goods in warehouses, production, and shipping/receiving areas.
  • Supporting inventory control and material tracking.
  • Ensuring production lines are supplied in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Performing routine equipment checks.
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft programs, scanning tools).
  • Effective verbal communication and coordination with teams.
