About the position
Mother Parkers Tea & Coffee is seeking a Forklift Operator for the 2nd Shift (2:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.) at our Distribution Center. In this role, you will utilize material handling and computer equipment to perform warehousing, shipping, and receiving duties following department and company-wide set standards. As part of our team, you will work among the best, collaborate with high performers, and contribute to challenging work every day.
Responsibilities
- Locate and pull requested quantities of specified lot and product number
- Prepare or repackage, to specifications, orders being received or shipped
- Use a computer console and/or RF terminal to perform transactions related to the physical movement of materials or product
- Verify the physical accuracy of all computer transactions performed
- At each day's end, return equipment to the designated charging station, and prepare equipment for charging
- Assist with physical inventory
- Train and motivate other Forklift Operators as needed
- Maintain work area and equipment in a safe and clean manner
- Ensure safety procedures and requirements for equipment and facility are followed at all times
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Current standup reach forklift training and certification
- Familiarity with warehousing, shipping, and receiving terms and preparations
- Ability to follow and provide written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors
- Strong counting and number skills
- Ability to lift 50 pounds safely
- Good eye/hand coordination and good motor skills
- Ability to work a 24x5 shift schedule
- Able to work overtime and periodic weekends, as needed
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal
