About the position
The Forklift Driver position at Roadtex LTL involves operating forklifts to load and unload materials in a warehouse environment. The role requires attention to detail, good communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The driver must ensure safety and efficiency in handling temperature-sensitive products while maintaining inventory records and the cleanliness of the work area.
Responsibilities
- Inspecting the forklift before use to ensure it is in proper working condition.
- Loading and unloading materials and goods onto and off trucks, trailers, or storage areas using the forklift.
- Maintaining inventory records and reporting any discrepancies to management.
- Ensuring that the forklift is always operated in a safe and responsible manner.
- Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the work area.
- Reporting any forklift malfunctions or maintenance needs to management.
- Assisting with other warehouse tasks as needed.
Requirements
- At least 3 months forklift experience and/or using warehouse distribution equipment.
- High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Ability to successfully pass internal Forklift Certification Training and demonstrate safety procedures.
- Able to perform job tasks in sometimes dusty, hot and/or cold working conditions.
