About the position

The Foreperson position at Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC is responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring productivity, and enforcing safety protocols among the crew. This role involves managing and mentoring employees, troubleshooting job site issues, and maintaining effective communication with property owners and customers. The Foreperson plays a crucial role in promoting a culture of safety and compliance with company policies and OSHA specifications, while also coordinating work assignments and conducting training.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and assign daily work for the crew after receiving orders from a General Foreperson/Line Clearance Supervisor.
  • Conduct field training/retraining, instructing crew on new or revised job units.
  • Promote and uphold a culture of safety, applying sound judgment and adhering to company policies.
  • Conduct safety training in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Discuss issues with property owners/customers regarding access, power interruption, and work responsibilities.
  • Obtain permission from property owners to perform required work.
  • Maintain good customer and public relations through effective completion of assigned work.
  • Investigate incident reports and settle minor damage claims as delegated.
  • Maintain accurate records, timesheets, and reports related to crew operations.
  • Control crew costs and ensure effective use of resources.
  • Furnish reports on completed orders, crew time, and incidents.
  • Cooperate with customers and authorities when blocking streets or driveways.
  • Establish physical safeguards to protect employees and the public from hazards.
  • Make informed decisions in emergency situations to mitigate risks.
  • Inspect and repair tools, trucks, and equipment as necessary.
  • Maintain good housekeeping on the truck and at work locations.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • 1+ year of experience in the Line Clearance industry required.
  • Understanding of drawings and symbols representing lines and equipment.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to adjust to field requirements and take independent action.
  • Ability to safely drive an approved company vehicle.
  • Ability to work with hands above head for extended periods.
  • No fear of heights.
