About the position
The Forensic Service Technician Lead is responsible for providing basic patient care and assisting clients in developing daily living skills. This role involves working under broad supervision, taking vital signs, administering medications, and ensuring the safety and security of clients. The technician may also supervise and direct the work of others, serving as a job expert in assigned areas. This position is specifically for the 2nd shift and requires a high level of responsibility and care for forensic individuals or similar populations.
Responsibilities
- Provide basic patient care and assist clients in developing daily living skills.
- Take vital signs and perform related medical procedures under nursing supervision.
- Supervise and direct the work of others as needed.
- Assist in the administration of medications and treatments as directed by a physician or nurse.
- Conduct recreational and socialization activities for clients.
- Ensure the safety and security of clients at all times.
- Document patient data, behavior, and activity accurately.
- Prepare clients for treatment or examination and provide necessary care.
- Transport clients to treatment units using appropriate equipment.
- Re-position bedridden clients to prevent bed sores.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- One year of experience in a related field or equivalent experience at the lower level Health Aide 2.
- Valid Georgia Driver's License with an acceptable MVR.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience working with forensic individuals or correctional offenders.
- Experience supervising others.
