About the position
The Food Service Technician II (Safety) will be directed by the Food Service Supervisor I and/or the Supervising Cook I in Nutrition Services at the Department of State Hospitals - Atascadero (ASH). The incumbent will be responsible for the following duties but not limited to: instructing, leading, coordinating, and participating in the preparation and distribution of food and beverages; adhering to the requirements for infection control and food safety/Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP); maintaining order, cleanliness, and sanitation in assigned area of responsibility; and adhering to requirements for safety, security, emergency response, a non-hostile work environment, and rights of patients.
Responsibilities
- Instruct, lead, coordinate, and participate in the preparation and distribution of food and beverages.
- Adhere to the requirements for infection control and food safety/Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP).
- Maintain order, cleanliness, and sanitation in assigned area of responsibility.
- Adhere to requirements for safety, security, emergency response, a non-hostile work environment, and rights of patients.
Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- One year of experience performing the duties of a Food Service Technician I in the California state service, or two years of experience in the distribution and service of foods in large quantity.
