The Food Services Shift Supervisor at the Caro Psychiatric Hospital is responsible for overseeing food service operations within a correctional facility. The supervisor collaborates with custody staff to maintain security while providing quality food services to the facility's population.

Responsibilities

• Directly oversee and manage the preparation and serving of three meals daily.
• Train subordinate staff and prisoner workers in quantity food service preparation and serving.
• Ensure adherence to policy directives, State-Wide menu, and operating procedures.
• Maintain compliance with nutritional standards and safe food handling practices.
• Supervise subordinate Cooks and indirectly supervise prisoner workforce.
• Collaborate with custody staff to ensure safety and security within the facility.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Four years of experience overseeing quantity cooking and food preparation tasks equivalent to a Cook.
• Three years equivalent to a Cook E6 or two years equivalent to a Cook 7.
• Possession of an associate's degree in dietetics, food services management, or related field may substitute for experience.
• Possession of a bachelor's degree in dietetics, food services management, or related field may substitute for experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a correctional facility food service environment.
• Knowledge of dietary restrictions and therapeutic diets.
