About the position

We are searching for a talented Food Service Specialist to be part of our community-focused and care-driven team. This position is located at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River, MA, and involves working day shifts with every other weekend and rotating holidays. The role includes preparing short-order foods, monitoring food quality, and maintaining sanitation guidelines. Responsibilities

  • Prepare short-order foods and made-to-order foods as needed for departmental feeding responsibilities.
  • Monitor food produced for quality, temperature, and flavor; identify issues via tasting, portioning, and visual appearance and make corrections.
  • Extend recipes accurately to ensure proper yields and maintain meal costs.
  • Keep production and temperature records up to date and report any problems to the Chef or Manager on duty.
  • Maintain all refrigerators and freezers clean and organized.
  • Follow established sanitation guidelines.
  • Perform other reasonable duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Equal to completion of four years of high school or the equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of one year food service related experience required.
  • Experience with proper food safety/sanitation procedures preferred.
  • Knowledge of HACCP principles.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons.
