About the position
The Food Service Associate at Ahern Middle School is responsible for the efficient operation of the school cafeteria, ensuring a positive dining experience for students while adhering to food safety regulations. This part-time role involves meal preparation, serving, and maintaining cleanliness in the cafeteria, all while promoting excellent customer service and effective communication with staff and students.
Responsibilities
- Encourage maximum student participation in the cafeteria.
- Adhere to local, state, and federal regulations regarding school food service and the Child Nutrition Program.
- Prepare and handle food safely, maintaining high standards in nutrition, flavor, appearance, and presentation.
- Set up the serving line and serve food to students.
- Receive, clean, and sanitize dishes, equipment, and facilities.
- Assist with record keeping and cashiering duties.
- Communicate effectively with food service staff, school faculty, administration, and students.
- Attend required training sessions.
- Display a high level of personal and professional integrity in all duties.
Requirements
- Entry-level position with no prior experience required.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
