About The Position

CROS has been feeding the hungry in our community for 48 years. We operate food pantries throughout Palm Beach County and in Indiantown. Our warehouse and driver positions are structured to keep our pantries operating. Food is picked up and brought to our warehouse, or delivered. Deliveries are processed into orders and delivered to the pantries. We use volunteers in our daily pantry operations to distribute food to our clients. We are looking for employees that not only meet the requirements of the job, but also have a heart for fulfilling our mission. This position is responsible for overseeing operations of the Mobile Food Pantry as directed by the Director of the Food Pantry Program. This is a part-time position. Workdays are Wednesday through Saturday. Hours are Wednesday through Friday 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM and Saturday 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Starting wage is $17-$18 per hour.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in related field OR High School Diploma/GED plus five years directly related experience
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Must have a valid FL driver license, clean driving record, reliable transportation
  • Must be able to pass background check and drug screening
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft suite a must
  • Understanding of Excel functions and formulas a must
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions to complete assigned tasks
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work
  • Ability to problem solve, implement solutions, work independently

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working with volunteers a plus
  • Previous experience driving a truck a plus
  • Previous experience operating a forklift a plus
  • Previous warehouse experience a plus
  • Database experience a plus
  • Knowledge of applicable work environment safety rules a plus
  • Fluency in Spanish and/or Creole a plus

Responsibilities

  • Manage the set up and operation of the Mobile Food Pantry service sites (pantry operation includes: assist unloading equipment and food, set up site, supervise volunteers doing client intake and service, break down site, assist loading truck)
  • Assist with volunteer groups at the warehouse
  • Recruit, train and supervise volunteers for the pantry
  • Organize and coordinate community food drives
  • Oversee data management and program reporting
  • Maintain relationships with community partners
  • Work to educate the community as to systemic causes and solutions to ending hunger
