About The Position

Responsible for sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and buffing the floor surfaces of commercial buildings. This role requires flexibility and the ability to work independently with little to no supervision. The Floor Tech will also be responsible for maintaining the janitor's closet and equipment, monitoring building security and safety, and acting as a point of contact for clients with a high level of professionalism.

Requirements

Must have at least 3 years of floor tech experience.
Must be able to perform all physical aspects of the above job duties.
Continuous walking and standing.
Must be able to speak and communicate effectively with management and customers.

Responsibilities

Cleans and maintains buildings/facilities.
Performs heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish.
Notifies managers concerning the need for minor or major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
Establishes and maintains effective communication and working relationships with clients, co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, managers, etc.
Complies with all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures established by the Company, Clients, and regulatory authorities.
Cleans building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.
Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
Moves cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates, and equipment to clean areas, either manually or by using hand trucks.
Removes stains from surfaces such as rugs, drapes, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions.
Sweeps walks, rakes leaves, cuts grass, removes snow, or performs other incidental seasonal tasks.
Mixes water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications.
Strips, seals, finishes, and polishes floors.
Cleans and vacuums carpeted areas, including application of spot cleaning treatment.
Wipes and cleans tabletops, chairs, and equipment in food areas.
Sets up, arranges, and removes decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, and scaffolding to prepare facilities for events such as banquets and meetings.
Keeps janitor’s closet neat and orderly and maintains equipment in good working order.
Monitors building security and safety by performing tasks such as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created.
Functions as a contact for client, using high level of professionalism and communication skills.
Works with little to no supervision and independently determines tasks to complete on a daily basis.
Performs all physical aspects of the job duties, including continuous walking and standing.
Speaks and communicates effectively with management and customers.
Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.
