About the position

The Flight Paramedic is responsible for providing advanced life support care during air transport, ensuring patient safety and effective communication with medical personnel. This role involves conducting patient assessments, administering medical care, and maintaining equipment standards while promoting safety and wellness initiatives within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient examinations for signs and symptoms of illness/injury.
• Administer basic, intermediate, or advanced life support care as per protocols.
• Ensure safe transport of patients to medical facilities via air ambulance.
• Document patient conditions and treatments accurately on ePCR run reports.
• Conduct regular inventory and testing of aircraft and medical equipment.
• Report safety issues and collaborate with management for resolution.
• Participate in disaster drills and community meetings as required.
• Assist with special projects as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• National Registry and appropriate State Paramedic license.
• BLS, ACLS, and a valid driver's license.
• PHTLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required within 12 months of hire.
• Advanced Credential CCP-C or FP-C preferred within 18 months of hire.
• At least three years of experience as a CCT-Paramedic or equivalent recent experience.
• Ability to report to the assigned Air Med station within 90 minutes drive time.

Nice-to-haves

• Completion of Acadian Companies Critical Care Transport Course (Internal Applicants) or other Credentialed Critical Care Course (External applicants).
• Strong working knowledge of CORE protocols and CCT equipment.
