FlexSteel embodies teamwork with a focus on hiring top talent and developing employees. The CNC Machinist will be responsible for operating and running stations with up to two lathes.

Responsibilities

• Reads and interprets blueprints and drawings to setup, edit, and machine parts (fasteners, midlines) to tight specifications and tolerances.
• Operates and runs stations with up to two Numeric Controlled lathes.
• Machines small to mid-size parts (2-8-inch midlines/fasteners for FlexSteel products).
• Utilizes common machining tools: Micrometers, Calipers, Gauges, etc. to perform QC on finished parts.
• Maintains a safe and clean working environment. The shop is kept very organized and clean.
• Works in a safe manner.
• Responsible for quality of parts produced.
• Responsible for documentation generated or related to production of the job.
• Works within tolerances of +/-.005".
• Works from blueprints, sketches, and process control documents.
• Assumes other duties and responsibilities as required.
• All candidates must be punctual and reliable and adhere to a strict attendance policy.

Requirements

• Highschool Diploma or Equivalent GED.
• A minimum of 1-3 years' experience doing setups, edits, and machining on CNC Lathes.
• Experience with carbon and stainless-steel materials.
• Experience running station with multiple machines in a fast-paced work environment.
• Candidates must be able to read prints to do own setup & editing as needed during runs.
• Experience with Okuma Lathes with Live Tooling a major plus.
• Experience with G-Codes & Okuma Controls (OSP - 200LA and 300) a major plus.
