About The Position
DSI Security Services is a nationally recognized provider of contract security solutions, serving a diverse portfolio of clients across commercial real estate and corporate environments. We are seeking a professional Security Officer to join our team at a premier Class A commercial property in downtown Chicago. This is a union position focused on delivering a concierge-level security presence while maintaining a safe, secure, and professional environment for tenants, guests, and clients. This is an entry-level position with a limited, flexible schedule that offers the first opportunity for permanent assignment. The primary shift is Tuesdays from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with additional hours available to support coverage for vacation and personal time-off requests. This is a high-visibility role ideal for individuals who take pride in professionalism, strong customer service, and attention to detail.
Requirements
- Minimum 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic to intermediate computer skills (reports, email, access control systems)
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Reliable transportation and means of communication
- Must possess or be able to obtain an Illinois PERC card
- Must pass all pre-employment screenings

Responsibilities
- Provide a professional and welcoming presence in lobby and common areas
- Deliver exceptional customer service to tenants, visitors, and guests
- Monitor access control systems and manage visitor entry
- Conduct routine patrols of the property
- Observe and report suspicious activity, hazards, or incidents
- Respond to situations with professionalism and sound judgment
- Complete accurate daily activity and incident reports
- Follow all post orders, policies, and safety procedures
