About the position

The Fleet Technician at Penn Power Group is responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairs on trailers, ensuring high-quality service delivery to exceed customer expectations. This role requires a combination of technical skills, customer service, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The technician will engage in both minor and major repairs, diagnostics, and maintenance tasks, contributing to the overall efficiency and safety of the fleet.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs on trailers.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and federal inspections.
  • Accurately record time, parts, and PM inspection checklists.
  • Execute trailer repair, including minor to major body rebuilding and repair.
  • Diagnose and identify vehicle and equipment malfunctions, including ABS systems.
  • Test vehicles and equipment after repairs to ensure functionality.
  • Verify completion of repairs to ensure quality service delivery.
  • Weld frames, replace rails, panels, sheet metal, and various equipment components on trailers.

Requirements

  • ASE Certification in relevant fields.
  • Experience in preventative maintenance and trailer repair.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Proficient in automotive diagnostics and computer skills.
  • Ability to perform vehicle and equipment overhaul and repair safely and efficiently.

Nice-to-haves

  • Technical degree and/or training in automotive technology.
  • Superior ability to fill out forms and charts accurately.
  • Creativity and adaptability in problem-solving.
