About the position
The Fleet Technician at Penn Power Group is responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairs on trailers, ensuring high-quality service delivery to exceed customer expectations. This role requires a combination of technical skills, customer service, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The technician will engage in both minor and major repairs, diagnostics, and maintenance tasks, contributing to the overall efficiency and safety of the fleet.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs on trailers.
- Conduct routine maintenance and federal inspections.
- Accurately record time, parts, and PM inspection checklists.
- Execute trailer repair, including minor to major body rebuilding and repair.
- Diagnose and identify vehicle and equipment malfunctions, including ABS systems.
- Test vehicles and equipment after repairs to ensure functionality.
- Verify completion of repairs to ensure quality service delivery.
- Weld frames, replace rails, panels, sheet metal, and various equipment components on trailers.
Requirements
- ASE Certification in relevant fields.
- Experience in preventative maintenance and trailer repair.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Proficient in automotive diagnostics and computer skills.
- Ability to perform vehicle and equipment overhaul and repair safely and efficiently.
Nice-to-haves
- Technical degree and/or training in automotive technology.
- Superior ability to fill out forms and charts accurately.
- Creativity and adaptability in problem-solving.
