About the position

Pepsi Beverages North America (PBNA) is PepsiCo's beverage manufacturing, sales, and distribution operating unit. Fleet Mechanics play a key role in the success of our business by ensuring the reliability of our fleet and supporting the safety of our Drivers. As an experienced Fleet Mechanic, you will work with a high degree of independence while performing PMs and repairs, utilizing leading edge technology and programs. You will leverage and grow your skills working on Pepsi's diverse fleet equipment including automobiles, trucks, vans, and forklifts. Responsibilities

  • Perform PMs and repairs on fleet vehicles with a high degree of independence.
  • Utilize leading edge technology and programs including PM using voice application, Noregon diagnostics, and Uptake predictive analytics.
  • Work on a diverse fleet equipment including automobiles, trucks, vans, and forklifts.
  • Perform advanced diagnostics across all OE platforms.
  • Conduct high level repairs such as engine and driveline, after treatment and emissions, and safety systems.
  • Adapt and build repair and maintenance capability for alternative fuel applications.
  • Diagnose failures of vehicles and disassemble, repair, and reassemble parts as necessary.
  • Maintain documentation and records such as vehicle records and pre-trip checklists.
  • Answer service calls and support Pepsi's strong safety culture.

Requirements

  • Must have own basic hand tools.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to pass Forklift Driving Skills test (if applicable).
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Brakes Certification.
  • Experience or training involving hydraulic and air brake systems.
  • Experience performing after treatment and emissions repairs.
  • Experience performing driveline repairs.
  • Experience using diagnostic platforms.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience removing and replacing mounted wheels to torque specs.
  • Experience utilizing diagnostic troubleshooting codes.
  • Experience with parts management and inventory controls.
  • Experience working under limited supervision.
  • Experience using shop tools.
  • Experience with preventative maintenance programs.
  • Experience working with computers.
  • Experience repairing forklifts.
  • Experience working with manufacturing standard manuals.
  • Experience repairing heavy duty equipment.
  • Experience or training involving gas and/or diesel automotive repair.
  • Experience performing engine repairs.
  • Experience performing safety systems repairs.
  • ASE Electrical Certification.
  • ASE Heavy Duty Certification.
  • ASE Suspension Certification.
  • ASE, Macs or Military AC certification.
  • Experience driving trucks requiring a Class A or B CDL.
  • Experience repairing light trucks.
  • Experience with shift work.
  • Hotwork/Welding Certification.
  • Welding experience.
