About The Position

MVM Moving & Storage is a fast-growing, multi-location moving company operating across Ohio, Indiana, and Florida. We take pride in maintaining a reliable, safe, and professional fleet to support our crews and customers. We’re looking for a dependable Fleet Mechanic to join our team and help keep our trucks road-ready. The Fleet Mechanic will work under the direction of our Lead Mechanic and be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing our fleet of diesel and gas-powered moving trucks, trailers, and equipment. This is a hands-on role for someone who can work independently, stay organized, and take ownership of their work.

Requirements

Prior experience as a fleet or diesel mechanic (moving or trucking industry preferred)
Ability to diagnose and repair trucks independently
Must have your own tools
Strong work ethic and reliability
Valid driver’s license required

Nice To Haves

CDL preferred, but not required
Experience with medium-duty trucks (e.g., box trucks, straight trucks)
Familiarity with liftgates, ramps, and moving equipment
Basic knowledge of ELD systems and fleet tracking (Samsara experience a plus)
Welding or fabrication experience is a bonus

Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance and preventative maintenance (PMs) on trucks and trailers
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
Complete repairs on diesel and gas engines
Inspect vehicles for safety and DOT compliance
Address driver-reported issues from pre/post-trip inspections
Maintain accurate service records and documentation
Assist with breakdowns and urgent repairs as needed
Keep shop area clean, organized and efficient
