Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction

About the position

The Flagger/Traffic Control position is an entry-level role focused on coordinating logistics and ensuring safe operations at highway and heavy construction projects. The role involves physical labor and assisting Traffic Control Technicians in maintaining traffic safety according to DOT specifications. The position requires outdoor work and adherence to safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Traffic Control Technician in Maintenance of Traffic duties per DOT Specifications.
  • Clear and prepare highway work zones and rights-of-way under supervision.
  • Set out and pick up traffic barricades, cones, and markers.
  • Control traffic passing near, in, and around work zones using flags or paddles.
  • Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with safety policies and procedures.
  • Follow all Company policies and OSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or its equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience working outdoors is required.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral instructions.
  • Ability to communicate with supervisors, co-workers, and the public.
  • Mechanical aptitude is desirable.
  • Previous experience in operating various types of heavy equipment preferred, but not required.
