About the position

The Fiscal Analyst position at LSU Health New Orleans is a critical role under the supervision of the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Administration and Finance. The incumbent will engage in decision support functions that encompass fiscal and budgetary analysis, as well as strategic and operational planning. This role is essential for ensuring compliance with University, State, and Federal regulations, and it plays a significant part in the financial review analyses and the collection of financial and program information. The incumbent will be responsible for assessing institutional needs and aligning those needs with available resources to facilitate informed executive decision-making. The work environment is dynamic and requires a high degree of initiative, independent judgment, confidentiality, and accountability. The level of the position will be determined based on the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, which will influence the complexity and scope of responsibilities assigned. The Fiscal Analyst will be expected to contribute to the financial health of the institution by providing insightful analyses and recommendations that support the strategic goals of the University.

Responsibilities

  • Perform fiscal and budgetary analysis to support decision-making processes.
  • Conduct strategic and operational planning in compliance with regulations.
  • Collect and analyze financial and program information related to institutional needs.
  • Facilitate executive decision-making by aligning institutional needs with available resources.
  • Maintain confidentiality and accountability in all financial dealings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant, professional-level experience in fiscal analysis or a related area.
  • A Master's degree in a business-oriented discipline can substitute for two years of experience.
  • A bachelor's degree in another discipline may substitute for the bachelor's with two additional years of relevant experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in a business-oriented discipline is preferred.
  • CPA certification is preferred.
  • Administrative experience in public sector, higher education, or health care is preferred.
