About the position
St. James Catholic School is seeking a creative and dynamic First Grade Elementary School Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. The role involves planning and implementing instructional programs for elementary grade levels while fostering a safe and positive learning environment. The teacher will collaborate with the school community and align their responsibilities with the mission and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement an appropriate instructional program for elementary grade levels.
- Create a safe and positive learning environment for students.
- Collaborate with the school community to enhance educational experiences.
- Perform all duties in alignment with the mission and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami.
- Engage with students and manage classroom dynamics effectively.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts Degree, preferably in Elementary Education or a related field.
- Florida Department of Education teaching certification (temporary or professional) or eligibility for certification.
- Experience caring for and engaging with children.
- Excellent classroom management skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in a Roman Catholic environment preferred.
- Excellent lesson planning and presentation abilities incorporating instructional technologies.
