About the position
The Firearms Associate in the Hunting Department at Sportsman's Warehouse is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while ensuring compliance with all firearm transaction regulations. This role involves assisting customers with product selection, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the department, and ensuring the security of firearms. The associate will also be trained in sales techniques and will handle cash transactions accurately.
Responsibilities
- Approach each customer using the 5 non-negotiable Friedman Sales Training Steps.
- Keep the department clean, faced, and straight at all times.
- Assist in processing and replenishing merchandise and monitoring floor stock.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of form 4473 and ensure accuracy when completing both employee and customer portions.
- Ensure security of the hunting department, including the gun counter and firearm rooms.
- Meet all ATF standards for firearm transactions.
- Communicate customer requests to management.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by management, which may include assisting in other departments.
- Assist customers in the selection of products and provide knowledgeable service.
- Assist in maintaining overall department organization and cleanliness.
- Provide basic knowledge with scope mounting and firearm maintenance.
Requirements
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work closely with customers and co-workers.
- Basic understanding of proper cash handling procedures.
- Ability to assist in mounting and maintenance of all firearms.
- Demonstrate exceptional merchandise techniques, including organization and pricing.
- High school diploma or GED recommended.
