About the position

We are currently seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler Fitter responsible for the installation of both new construction and retro fit fire sprinkler applications. A successful candidate will have a good working knowledge of NFPA Standards, OSHA regulations, and be an organized self-starter with sound communication skills. A Fitter must be able to read blueprints, specifications, project schedules, and attend job site meetings. The Fitter must be proficient with the installation of sprinkler mains and line piping; utilizing a variety of materials such as schedule 40/10 black and/or galvanized pipe/fittings, CPVC pipe, and fittings per blueprint specifications. The Fitter must also possess experience with the installation of a variety of sprinkler systems (Wet, Dry, Deluge, Pre-action, Fire Pumps, etc.) per blueprints, specifications, and building codes. The Fitter will install valves, devices and trim for system risers, alarm valves, dry pipe valves, pre-action valves, and backflow prevention devices.

Responsibilities

  • Install fire sprinkler systems in new construction and retro fit applications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and specifications for installation.
  • Attend job site meetings to coordinate with contractors and staff.
  • Install sprinkler mains and line piping using various materials.
  • Install a variety of sprinkler systems including Wet, Dry, Deluge, Pre-action, and Fire Pumps.
  • Install valves, devices, and trim for system risers and alarm valves.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years experience with fire sprinkler installation.
  • F2 CT Fire Sprinkler License.
  • Comprehensive understanding of contract documents and fire sprinkler design.
  • Self-motivated with little or no supervision required.
  • Excellent communication skills to work with contractors and internal staff.
  • Knowledge of various types of sprinkler systems.
  • Knowledge of all NFPA codes and standards (NFPA-13, 14, 20, 22, 24 and 25).
  • Ability to complete site surveys and identify code compliance issues.
  • OSHA 10 Required.
  • Valid Drivers license with clean record.
