About The Position

The Blue Ash Fire Department is looking to fill a part-time Fire Safety Inspector position. This position is responsible for completing annual compliance inspections including required documentation and follow-up of failed inspections. This position reports to the Fire Marshal and Fire Chief. This is a part-time permanent position working approximately 12-16 hours per week.

Requirements

• Must possess and maintain an Ohio Fire Safety Inspector certification.
• Demonstration of knowledge of how to use and apply the Ohio Fire Code is expected at the time of interview.

Nice To Haves

• Experienced inspectors assigned to conducting annual fire safety inspections of commercial and multi-family properties is preferred.
• Knowledge of the specific fire code rules within the Codified Ordinance of Blue Ash.

Responsibilities

• Completing annual compliance inspections including required documentation and follow-up of failed inspections.
• Organizing and managing inspections for occupancies assigned at the start of each monthly period.
• Reviewing, scanning, and entering testing documents into our database.
• Maintaining proper written and oral communications with inspection contacts.
