About the position

As a Fire Inspector at Siemens, you will play a crucial role in ensuring public safety and property protection by performing inspections, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems. This position involves not only technical responsibilities but also mentoring entry-level inspectors, fostering a culture of growth and knowledge-sharing within the team. Your work will directly contribute to emergency preparedness and the overall safety of environments where people live and work.

Responsibilities

  • Follow and maintain high structured inspection schedules for fire alarm equipment.
  • Perform inspections, testing, and minor service and deficiency repairs to comply with NFPA72 standards and local codes.
  • Document deficiencies, remedies, and review pricing with customers.
  • Complete service ticket documentation before leaving the customer site.
  • Follow-up on corrective actions and maintain accurate documentation of all tests performed.
  • Generate reports using Siemens tools and upload to city municipality websites.
  • Provide instructions to customer personnel regarding proper operation and routine inspections.
  • Assist with training entry-level fire alarm inspectors.
  • Work overtime when needed and maintain stock, tools, and equipment in vehicles.
  • Adhere to local, corporate, and OSHA safety policies and procedures.
  • Complete required training and certifications within the time requirements for this role.

Requirements

  • 3+ years' experience performing Inspections, Testing, and Maintenance (ITM) of Fire Alarm and/or Fire Life Safety Systems.
  • Ability to work in various environments, including climbing ladders and working in extreme conditions.
  • Proficient in using hand tools, laptops, smartphones, and tablets.
  • Must be able to carry and move equipment weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted.
  • Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.

Nice-to-haves

  • High school diploma or state-recognized GED; Associate degree in electronics or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years' experience performing Inspections, Testing, and Maintenance (ITM) of Fire Alarm and/or Fire Life Safety Systems.
  • Must obtain NICET Fire Alarm Certification Level II within 12 months.
  • Ability to read and understand design and construction documents.
