About the position

The Fire Alarm Installer position involves the installation, programming, troubleshooting, and servicing of Fire Alarm Systems, Access Control, and CCTV Systems at customer sites. The role requires effective organization and utilization of technical resources to ensure efficient task execution, with a primary focus on networked fire alarm systems.

Responsibilities

  • Install and program integrated security and fire alarm systems.
  • Respond to customer service calls promptly and troubleshoot as needed.
  • Participate in after-hours service program.
  • Communicate with central dispatch regarding work order status and customer issues.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and operational manuals.
  • Supervise and inspect equipment installation to meet specifications.
  • Complete necessary certification courses for internal and external products.
  • Submit all required documentation in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of documented experience in low voltage electrical systems, including Fire/Life Safety Systems, Access Control, CCTV, and Security Systems.
  • NICET II certification required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints and operational manuals.
  • Proficient with hand tools, test equipment, and multi-meters.
  • Capable of performing physical labor, including lifting equipment up to 50-70 lbs.
  • Ability to work in difficult positions such as climbing ladders and working in crawl spaces.
  • Flexible hours including weekends may be required.
  • Demonstrated high level of customer service.
  • Ability to lead and work well with team members.
  • Strong organizational skills and a positive attitude.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and meet company driving record requirements.
  • Able to pass a pre-employment background and drug test.
  • Basic understanding of Network concepts and architectures.

Nice-to-haves

  • Two-year Associates Degree in Electronics, Network, Computer Science, or related field.
