About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Fire Alarm Installer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fire safety systems, including design, installation, and maintenance. This role is crucial in ensuring that fire protection systems are effectively implemented and comply with all relevant codes and standards. The Fire Engineer will work closely with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality fire safety solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Install fire alarm systems tailored to client specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of existing fire safety systems to identify areas for improvement or upgrades.
  • Utilize power tools and hand tools for the installation of fire alarm systems and related equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints to ensure accurate system layout and implementation.
  • Collaborate with sales teams on fire alarm sales initiatives, providing technical expertise as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) during all phases of system design and installation.
  • Provide training and support to clients on the operation of installed fire safety systems.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, technologies, and regulations related to fire safety.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in system design and installation of low voltage electrical systems, particularly in fire safety applications.
  • Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems, including detection technologies and alarm signaling devices.
  • Proficiency in using both power tools and hand tools relevant to the installation of electrical systems.
  • Ability to read blueprints effectively for accurate project execution.
  • Familiarity with NEC guidelines as they pertain to fire protection systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with clients and team members.

Nice-to-haves

  • Relevant certifications or licenses in fire protection engineering or related fields are preferred but not mandatory.
