About the position

The Financial Services Team Lead at Loudoun County Government is responsible for overseeing the department's financial and budgetary operations, ensuring compliance and efficiency within the financial aspects of the County's land management system, LandMARC. This role involves managing financial processes, providing budget oversight, supervising a small team, and collaborating with various county departments to maintain operational excellence. The position emphasizes customer service, strong communication skills, and the ability to foster a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, track, and oversee transactions through LandMARC financial systems.
  • Provide necessary training to internal users of the system on financial aspects.
  • Assist in reviewing and developing department SOP's and department policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and maintain all internal controls within LandMARC's financial areas.
  • Ensure refunds are processed accurately and promptly.
  • Serve as a backup in the absence of subordinate employees.
  • Act as the Department's liaison to the Department of Finance and Procurement, the Commissioner of Revenue, the Treasurer's Office, and other county departments reliant on LandMARC.
  • Participate in strategic planning activities, including developing objectives and measures of success.
  • Generate reporting revenues and statistical reports for senior management's review.
  • Assist in evaluating and overseeing the departmental fee revenue in coordination with the Office of Management and Budget.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Four (4) years of related work experience in areas such as government, financial services, budget management, policy analysis, project management, or program evaluation; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
