About The Position

The Financial Data Specialist provides financial data management, analysis, and reporting support to Senior Financial Management, Group Logistics Managers, and Logistics Managers. This role focuses on ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and usability of financial data to support operational decision-making, financial reporting, and compliance.

Requirements

  • Strong ability to analyze, validate, and interpret financial data
  • Effective communicator with the ability to translate complex financial and operational data for all levels of the organization
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to prioritize multiple data and reporting requests
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills with a proactive, continuous-improvement mindset
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to partner with leaders ranging from Vice Presidents to shop Service Managers
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, or a related field required
  • Two (2) to four (4) years of experience in Finance, Accounting, Operations, or Financial/Data Analysis preferred

Responsibilities

  • Financial Data Management & Month-End Support Support month-end close activities, including preparation and review of journal entries to reclassify revenue and expenses as needed
  • Perform general ledger research to validate data accuracy and ensure all billing and revenue opportunities are properly captured
  • Analyze and document variances versus forecast and annual plan, ensuring explanations are supported by accurate underlying data
  • Operational & Data-Driven Initiatives Partner with the Director of Operations (DOO), Director of Sales (DOS), and Director of Rental (DOR) to identify data-driven opportunities for cost, efficiency, and productivity improvements
  • Develop and maintain financial datasets, reports, and analysis that support operational initiatives and leadership decision-making
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis Prepare recurring and ad hoc financial reports, dashboards, and performance metrics for business units and leadership
  • Support forecasting, business planning, and branch performance analysis by ensuring data consistency and reliability across reporting tools
  • Training & Data Enablement Provide training to Business Unit staff on financial data, reporting tools, policies, and procedures
  • Act as a subject matter resource for interpreting financial data and explaining trends, variances, and operational impacts
  • Compliance & Controls Support Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance activities, including branch audits and documentation related to financial data controls
  • Assist in maintaining data integrity and audit readiness across financial processes
  • Corporate & Shared Services Support Serve as a Business Unit liaison with the Shared Services Center and Corporate Accounting to resolve data issues, reconcile discrepancies, and support reporting requirements
  • Additional Responsibilities Perform other duties as assigned
  • Follow up on action items related to data tracking, reporting, root cause analysis, and process improvement recommendations
