About the position
The Financial Counselor position is responsible for providing financial counseling assistance to patients or their guarantors to help settle outstanding hospital balances for services rendered. This role primarily involves customer service interactions, including answering calls and making outreach to resolve patient accounts. The position is full-time, requiring 40 hours of work per week, and offers partial remote eligibility.
Responsibilities
- Provide financial counseling assistance to patients or guarantors of patient accounts.
- Resolve outstanding hospital balances due for services rendered.
- Answer customer service phone line and make calls to customers regarding patient accounts.
- Collaborate with other Patient Financial Services Department employees and internal hospital staff.
Requirements
- High School graduate with six months to one year of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Associates or Bachelor degree preferred.
