About the position
The Financial Counselor position is a remote role focused on assisting clients with their insurance and medical assistance needs. The primary responsibilities include verifying insurance information, determining clients' medical assistance status, and facilitating the application process for those who need it. The role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to navigate various systems to ensure clients receive the necessary support.
Responsibilities
- Verify client's insurance information.
- Determine clients' medical assistance status upon admission to the program.
- Identify clients who need to apply for medical assistance and follow through with the application process.
- Transmit client's third-party payer information to pharmacy, lab, and other outside providers for credits and/or adjustments.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience in a Medical Office preferred.
- Ability to obtain accurate insurance information throughout the Pyramid system.
- Demonstrate conduct in keeping with Pyramid ethical standards.
- Participate in training and development activities to enhance job knowledge and skills.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and computer experience necessary.
- Comprehend pertinent instructions for complying with state and federal guidelines.
- Strong office organization, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and telephone etiquette.
- Basic math skills and excellent typing skills.
- Attention to detail.
