About the position

The Financial Counselor I position is a customer service role within the Retirement and Income Solutions Principal Connection team. The primary focus is to provide high-quality service to customers, helping them navigate their financial needs and building effective relationships across the organization. This role involves educating customers about their benefits, assisting with transactions, and addressing customer inquiries to enhance their financial confidence.

Responsibilities

• Provide benefit event education to former participants and those approaching a benefit event.
• Educate and assist existing and prospective customers with their investment and risk-based needs.
• Facilitate requested transactions or introduce customers to other teams when appropriate.
• Uncover current or potential retail customer needs.
• Perform other job-related duties and projects as they arise.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent plus 2+ years' experience in the financial services industry.
• SIE, Series 6 or 7 and Series 63 & 65 or Series 66 licensing required.
• Ability to be approved as a registered representative by all 50 States and Washington DC.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with computer desktop technology and digital communication mediums.
• Detailed knowledge of retail investment products and employer-sponsored retirement plans.
• Strong decision-making skills in the best interest of customers.
• Ability to work independently and demonstrate confidence in decisions.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
