About the position

The Financial Analyst position at Mainline Information Systems focuses on financial reporting and analysis using Power BI and Excel. The role is integral to driving data-driven decision-making within the Financial Planning & Analysis team, where the analyst will develop financial dashboards, automate reporting processes, and provide strategic insights to enhance business performance. The position requires collaboration with various departments to support financial initiatives and improve outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making across various departments.
  • Create detailed financial models, forecasts, and variance analyses.
  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards to track financial KPIs and business performance.
  • Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports that provide insights into financial results, trends, and key metrics.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes by providing accurate financial data and reporting.
  • Extract, manipulate, and analyze large datasets from multiple sources using Power BI and Excel.
  • Develop financial models and tools to provide analytical support and drive process improvement.
  • Automate financial reporting processes using Power BI to streamline data collection and presentation.
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis as needed to support business units with financial data and insights.
  • Provide financial insights that inform business decisions, identify cost-saving opportunities, and enhance profitability.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including accounting, operations, and senior leadership.
  • Present complex financial data in a clear and concise manner to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Train and support team members in Power BI and financial reporting best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Economics, or related field AND 2+ years' experience in finance and analytics OR equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years' proven experience with Excel, Power BI, and SQL.
