About the position

Homestead Companies is a fully integrated development, construction and real estate company specializing in multifamily, student housing, and active 55+ living. We have over 7,000 student housing beds and over 2,500 multifamily units located in seven states with our home office in Columbus, OH. The Financial Analyst is responsible for providing timely and accurate financial analysis, reporting and forecasting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain proforma financial models for residential real estate development opportunities.
• Perform detailed property level financial models and/or underwriting.
• Analyze market comps, location, and demographics of the properties to evaluate underwriting assumptions.
• Conduct market research to support underwriting assumptions.
• Compile budgetary and financial data to analyze performance and profitability.
• Prepare finance-centric marketing materials to assist in raising debt and equity.
• Assist with preparation of investment presentation.
• Creation and completion of all investor, sponsor and project return analysis including debt and equity offerings to be presented to external capital partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in finance
• Experience or internship in Real Estate preferred
• Strong Excel modeling skills
• Ability to analyze quantitative and qualitative information to be utilized for decision making
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Ability to simplify and effectively communicate complex ideas in writing and through data visualization techniques.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience using Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, etc.) a plus.
