About The Position

This role is crucial for maintaining the financial health of Anderson Communities by ensuring timely reporting of financial records for the Residential sector. The Financial Accountant will work closely with the finance team and various managers to ensure accurate, up-to-date information is maintained and communicated. The success of this role directly impacts the company's ability to invest in growth and deliver exceptional service to customers.

Requirements

  • Strong background in accounting concepts
  • Previous experience in the examination, analysis and reporting of financial records, including the reporting of income, expenses and cashflow
  • Highly detail-oriented
  • Proficient in MS Excel and enjoy creating and analyzing reports
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Drive and initiative to grow with the company
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial concepts
  • Excellent verbal, written communication skills
  • Excellent computer and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and problem-solve
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Clean background check and drug test required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required
  • Minimum of 2 years’ proven experience of relevant financial reporting and analysis
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with accounting software

Nice To Haves

  • QuickBooks experience preferred
  • Experience in Construction or Property Management industry preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and participate in the annual budget process
  • Routinely analyze and reconcile various general ledger accounts, including bank reconciliations
  • Review, reconcile, publish and distribute budget vs. actual reports to property management monthly
  • Prepare monthly profit and loss, balance sheets, and statements of cash flow report for all residential companies
  • Handle financial inquiries from executive and leadership team
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports per unit and per square foot
  • Aid Accounting Manager in projects related to finance, tax and audit, as well as other tasks assigned
