About the position

The Financial Account Specialist position is designed to provide key accounting and administrative support to the Campus Billing and DartCard Services Office. This role involves frontline customer service for both student and non-student accounts receivables and DartCard services. Each representative is responsible for specific programs and functions that are integral to the operations and maintenance of adequate controls within the office.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily and monthly reconciliation of all related financial and bank accounts.
  • Assist in providing financial data for forecasting models for budgeting and performance comparisons.
  • Manage the configuration and daily processing of the Dartmouth Card settlement system.
  • Process Dartmouth Card activity including location setup, code manager, web access, and backup of CSGold database.
  • Assist with backup and storage of all critical financial data.
  • Manage student registration holds process.
  • Monitor and manage card operations for conference and group events.
  • Administer various assigned programs and/or accounting functions such as processing student payments and contract billing.
  • Organize and produce accurate and timely reports from complex data.
  • Provide outstanding customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Effectively coordinate the interface between various offices and the Campus Billing and DartCard Services office.
  • Collaborate with management and colleagues to standardize processes and seek improvements.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree with at least 3 years of office experience, or High School diploma with 4-5 years of related office experience.
  • Two years of customer service, financial/accounting administration or other directly related experience.
  • Fast-paced customer service experience.
  • Experience with integrated database software.
  • Accounts receivable experience.
  • Experience with desktop computers and computer software.

Nice-to-haves

  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organization.
  • Working knowledge of financial and accounting procedures and practices.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in writing and on the phone.
  • Knowledge of integrated database software and information systems for student financial and academic data.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to adhere to and interpret federal regulations and College policies.
  • Problem solving, resolution, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Strong commitment to a diverse working environment.

Benefits

  • Regular Full Time employment with a hiring range of $20.67/hr to $25.81/hr.
  • 12 scheduled months per year.
  • Onsite work location.
