About the position

The Finance Manager at Improveit plays a crucial role in enhancing customer satisfaction by assisting homeowners in securing the best financing options for their home improvement projects. This position requires a blend of finance and sales expertise, focusing on delivering an exceptional customer experience while ensuring efficient loan processing and collaboration with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Sales Managers and Sales Design Consultants during in-home sales appointments to advise on suitable credit options for customers.
  • Optimize company profitability by approving credit requests while considering dealer fees, buy-downs, and risk fees.
  • Develop and implement strategies to reduce credit declines and resells.
  • Work with lenders and customers to secure credit approvals through HELOC programs, credit unions, and other non-traditional finance companies.
  • Ensure proper completion and submission of all financial documents to avoid delays in job progress.
  • Conduct virtual and in-home finance resells with customers under contract to find favorable financing options.
  • Collaborate with various departments on creative financing options and 'open to buy' financing projects to increase total sale amounts.
  • Monitor and report on the performance of the lender portfolio, including approval rates and program availability.
  • Conduct market research on lenders outside of our portfolio to evaluate potential collaborations and ensure competitive coverage of consumer credit tiers.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, and Operations to resolve credit issues and disputes.
  • Stay current on trends and regulations in the home improvement industry and credit market.
  • Document, create, and maintain SOPs related to the credit process.

Requirements

  • Previous oversight of consumer loan management process
  • Advanced mathematical acumen
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Skilled in negotiation and achieving agreement
  • Ability to relate positively to customers and develop rapport and trust
  • Ability to multi-task and make decisions with varied degrees of information
  • Ability to think quickly while using sound judgement
  • Strong technical skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel)
  • Salesforce.com experience is a plus
  • Business or finance-related undergraduate degree
  • 3-5 years of experience managing consumer loans or consumer financing
