About the position

As the GAF Integrated Supply Chain Operations Finance Manager, you will be a key player in our Center of Excellence (CoE), driving all facets of Manufacturing and Supply Chain Finance. In this pivotal role, you will shape a comprehensive financial understanding of our products and manufacturing processes while working closely with Operations and Integrated Supply Chain Leadership at our Headquarters. This position presents a unique opportunity to drive efficiency and spearhead transformational and continuous improvement initiatives. In this hands-on role, you will engage deeply with operations and supply chain finance, leveraging advanced analytics to derive insights that enhance financial operations and inform critical decision-making processes. Your contributions will lay a robust foundation for strategic insights that influence the organization's direction. You will utilize the P&L, developed KPIs, and the Balance Sheet as essential governance tools, conducting thorough analyses to uncover cost and production intricacies. This includes proactively identifying key success drivers and potential risks ahead of month-end, and collaborating closely with operations to effectively mitigate these challenges. Critical/Strategic thinking and very strong analytical skills are a requirement for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Build predictive modeling KPIs that analyze manufacturing and supply chain economics, evaluating projects for optimal financial returns through IRR/ROI assessments.
  • Drive initiatives like standard cost reviews and cycle count performance indicators to elevate operational excellence.
  • Conduct in-depth variance analysis to refine metrics and drive performance improvements.
  • Develop and oversee manufacturing KPIs related to volume, cost, absorption, DOI, PPV, Inventory Cap, LIFO, and MUV scoring, with a focus on enhancing and automating weekly scorecards for streamlined reporting.
  • Support monthly financial close activities, preparing insightful leadership scorecards for review.
  • Assist the CoE Director with the Residential Pacing Report, ensuring timely and accurate data presentation.
  • Identify root causes of cost variances, recommending corrective actions to address discrepancies and promote continuous improvement.
  • Reassess and automate reporting for Days of Inventory KPI across segment business lines to optimize inventory levels.
  • Provide financial analysis for business cases related to Warehouse Strategy, Rail Strategy, and Plant initiatives.
  • Utilize MES data to identify root causes of downtime and implement strategies to minimize unplanned outages.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance internal controls and processes, driving operational efficiency.
  • Manage systems and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure financial integrity.
  • Maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and routings, ensuring data precision and relevance.
  • Provide comprehensive support to the Sr. Director of Finance, ensuring alignment and collaboration across the finance team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Accounting or Finance Required
  • Minimum 8 years of Cost/Manufacturing management experience with budgeting, forecasting and driving business results.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certified Financial Manager (CFM)-CertFA Preferred
  • Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) Preferred
  • Master's degree Preferred
  • Designation of CPA, CMA, or MBA are pluses
  • Experience working with engineering and manufacturing personnel on the development and analysis of cost standards.

  • Ability to rely on experience and exercise professional judgment in decision-making, planning, and accomplishing goals
