About the position

The Finance Manager for the Delivery Experience team at Amazon is a strategic role that combines finance expertise with business acumen to support decision-making and drive operational efficiency. This position requires a data-driven individual who can navigate complex and ambiguous environments, collaborate with various business units, and influence senior leadership. The role involves building financial models, overseeing financial reporting, and educating business partners on financial trade-offs, all while contributing to the enhancement of customer delivery experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Partner/support senior leadership on product/project roadmap based on financial and operational efficiency improvements
  • Build financial models to support new product and science initiatives
  • Oversee financial reporting for your business area, ensuring data integrity to influence strategic decision-making
  • Identify and resolve complex data integrity issues, improving controls to address financial risk
  • Educate business partners on financial and non-financial trade-offs in ambiguous environments
  • Communicate complex finance issues clearly to various audiences, both in written and verbal formats

Requirements

  • BA or BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, Computer Science)
  • 5+ years of finance experience, or Master's degree and 3+ years of finance experience
  • Strong track record of strategic business partnership
  • Highly analytical and detail-oriented with advanced financial modeling and reporting skills
  • Demonstrated financial acumen and analytical capabilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA or CPA
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a willingness to work with a high degree of autonomy
  • Experience with understanding complex process flows and driving process improvements
  • Experience working with large-scale reporting tools (i.e. SQL, Cognos, etc.)
