About the position

The Finance Director at Nexus Family Healing is responsible for overseeing the financial operations and fiscal strategy of the organization. This role involves directing accounting functions, ensuring compliance with GAAP and FASB regulations, and collaborating with various departments to support organizational goals. The Finance Director also plays a key role in mentoring accounting staff and developing internal controls and policies.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee all financial, accounting, and business office functions.
• Develop and implement internal controls, policies, and procedures.
• Collaborate with Home Office in evaluating growth opportunities and assist with budget development.
• Provide consultation and guidance to department/program managers on financial issues.
• Oversee all internal and external contracts and agreements.
• Ensure compliance with funding source rules and regulations.
• Collaborate with the Executive Director in public relations and fundraising activities.
• Seek and develop new funding opportunities, including grant development.
• Supervise Information Systems, Food Service, and Facilities Management functions.
• Participate in the selection, onboarding, training, and performance evaluation of staff.

Requirements

• BA/BS in business-related field.
• Minimum of 8 years accounting management experience in a similar size organization.
• 3 years supervisory experience required.
• Demonstrated competency in accounting/finance processes and software packages.
• Proficiency with MS software with advanced skill level for spreadsheet and database applications.
• Valid driver's license required.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge and experience in not-for-profit finance management.
• Extensive knowledge of GAAP and FASB rules and regulations as they pertain to health care providers.
