About The Position

The Neil Jones Food Company is seeking a seasonal Filler Operator-Pouch I to operate Cryovac Fillers, Imaje Printer, Video Jet, and Checkweigher equipment. This role is responsible for maintaining the integrity of pouch seals at their TomaTek plant in Firebaugh, CA. This is a seasonal position supporting the fresh pack season, typically from June to October.

Requirements

Requires a High School Diploma, General Education Diploma (GED), or at least one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Requires the ability to perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division and to perform these operations using units of American weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Requires the ability to read, write, and speak English to perform the essential duties.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, work extended hours, weekends, and any shift assigned during the fresh pack season, typically July to early October.

Responsibilities

Accurate completion of filler operator documentation and required paperwork.
Set-up of the Checkweigher and Image printer for production and ensures that the code is correct and is clearly printing in accordance with the Pouch Operation Sheet.
Consistent monitoring of pouches being produced for defects.
Verifies proper size (length) & weights of pouches being produced are in accordance with the Pouch Operations Sheet.
Verifies End Seal, Center Seal and temperature settings are set according to film type and ensures correct film is always used according to the MSP.
