About The Position

This role is based out of our Springfield, MA office and will be covering Western MA and VT. The Field Superintendent, Existing Installations (EI) is responsible for overseeing the servicing and repair of all assigned units, ensuring alignment with both customer and company requirements. This includes driving improvements in quality, safety, cost efficiency, and overall customer satisfaction in support of Area objectives. This role also carries responsibility for employee selection, training, and safety across all assigned projects. Ensure maintenance activities meet Area and Company quality standards, as well as all contractual requirements. Implement and enforce both customer and company expectations related to quality, performance reliability, and passenger safety across all assigned projects. Ensure compliance with EEO/AA requirements in accordance with Area, state, and federal regulations. Partner with sales teams to support service estimates, order scheduling and execution, and the investigation and resolution of customer concerns. (Note: this role may include a sales component depending on the candidate.) Manage an ongoing project audit program to ensure adherence to performance standards related to quality, completeness, and safety. Develop and execute programs for employee selection, training, and performance management to support productivity and continuous quality improvement. Implement route management strategies that ensure consistent application of preventive maintenance processes while optimizing manpower utilization. Foster a strong team environment with a shared commitment to quality and continuous improvement. Evaluate and recommend tooling or equipment needs that would enhance efficiency and productivity. Build and maintain proactive relationships with the local IUEC business agent. Keep Area leadership informed of competitor activity related to pricing, performance, and workforce dynamics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or a minimum of 3 years of technical experience in the elevator industry or a related field.
  • Relevant work experience, including any job-specific background that demonstrates the necessary foundation for the role.
  • Strong working knowledge of elevators and escalators in order to effectively manage and direct field personnel in support of Area goals.
  • Strong communication skills—both verbal and written—are essential, along with proven leadership ability.
  • Ability to assess and interpret customer concerns, then mobilize the appropriate internal resources to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment in employee motivation, training, and work assignments.
  • Effectively managing manpower levels while consistently meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
  • Capable of training hourly field employees on company standards related to quality, productivity, and safety, and influencing adherence to established practices and procedures that support teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to communicate with and influence key stakeholders—including business agents, inspectors, and internal teams—is critical for resolving disputes and maintaining positive working relationships.
  • Must be able to clearly demonstrate value to customers, ensuring they feel they are receiving fair and high-quality service for their investment.
