About the position

Cypress Creek Renewables is seeking a highly motivated Field Service Technician to perform preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance on solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. This role is crucial in ensuring the operational efficiency and safety of solar installations, contributing to the company's mission of powering a sustainable future. The technician will work both in the field and in the office, engaging in routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs while adhering to safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site routine maintenance, service, troubleshooting, and repair of solar photovoltaic facilities.
  • Perform DC and AC testing, including polarity, open circuit voltage, grounding continuity, communication, insulation resistance testing, and I-V curve tracing.
  • Maintain the vehicle, tools, meters, and truck stock.
  • Create service reports and maintain spare parts inventory.
  • Identify safety hazards and take appropriate action to remove or eliminate hazards.
  • Create operability and major issue/downtime reports.
  • Respond on-call for emergencies as directed by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • 3-4+ years of experience in PV maintenance, including PV DC operations, AC medium voltage systems, network communications, and monitoring.
  • NABCEP Certified Installation Professional.
  • Experience with operation of SCADA, DAS, and UPS systems.
  • Skilled in the use of testing equipment and tools such as Thermographic Electrical Inspection, IV Curve Tracing, Meggers, and Ground Fault Detection.
  • Knowledge of National Electrical Code and standard design/construction practices.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical single-line and three-line diagrams.
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • OSHA 10 certification.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in all aspects of PV maintenance, including DC systems, AC medium voltage systems, and network communications and monitoring.
  • Diagnostic capabilities to troubleshoot and correct problems found.
  • Ability to take direction and complete tasks with minimal oversight.
