About the position

General Parts is hiring Field Service Technicians who will play a vital role in providing exceptional and timely service to our customers. This position involves diagnosing equipment failures, ordering and installing replacement parts, executing planned maintenance programs, and installing new equipment. Technicians will work with commercial cooking and refrigeration equipment, including gas, electric, and steam systems. The role may also require participation in after-hours and weekend on-call duties.

Responsibilities

  • Use troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to install, repair and maintain commercial cooking and/or refrigeration equipment.
  • Partner with customers to provide service solutions for their cooking equipment.
  • Consult with the parts department to order and install parts in customer equipment.
  • Participate in after-hours and weekend on-call duties.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Two years of previous or related experience, education or military experience preferred.
  • A valid driver's license and driving record that aligns with safety standards.
  • Completion of a satisfactory background check and drug screen is required.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude including electronics, steam, gas, and refrigeration.
  • Refrigeration technicians must be EPA certified.
  • CFESA Certification is a plus.
  • Must be highly safety conscious.
  • Excellent organizational skills and self-motivated with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to climb stairs and ladders.
  • Moderate to heavy lifting and carrying (up to 75 pounds).
  • Requires frequent walking, standing, driving, sitting, squatting, kneeling, reaching overhead, bending, twisting, and turning for most of the workday.
  • Must be able to use hands for fine manipulation of hand tools.
