About the position

The Field Service Diesel Technician at Cummins Inc. serves as a technical specialist and primary customer support contact, responsible for diagnosing and executing complex repairs to engine products at customer sites. This role involves performing maintenance and repairs, utilizing diagnostic tools, and maintaining detailed records of serviced vehicles while adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies. The technician will also mentor junior technicians and participate in ongoing development and certifications on Cummins products.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and execute complex repairs to engine products at customer sites.
• Perform maintenance and repairs utilizing diagnostic tools.
• Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles.
• Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies.
• Mentor junior technicians including providing technical support and documentation.

Requirements

• Significant field service work experience.
• Expert level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products.
• Customer service experience.
• 3 years driving experience with a valid license.
• Ability to troubleshoot with limited/no support from diagnostic tools.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience providing technical advice and coaching to more junior technicians.
• Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred).
• Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution.
