About the position

The Field Sales Development Representative plays a crucial role in the company's customer-centric business model by engaging with customers face-to-face and via phone to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions. This position involves collaborating with Field Sales Teams and working closely with the Regional Manager to identify customer needs in veterinary clinics and corporate accounts, promoting the company's Animal Health products. The role requires significant travel to assigned territories, with performance measured against sales quotas and other operational objectives. Top performers may have opportunities for career growth into field-based sales roles.

Responsibilities

  • Interact face to face and via phone with customers to understand their needs and offer solutions.
  • Collaborate with Field Sales Teams to support the customer-centric business model.
  • Travel to assigned territories as needed, with travel requirements up to 75%.
  • Work with the Regional Manager to identify customer needs in veterinary clinics and corporate accounts.
  • Communicate product details effectively to customers, customizing discussions based on their needs.
  • Develop customer strategies to drive sales opportunities and account growth.
  • Create territory and account plans for key customers.
  • Partner with National Account Managers and Distribution Partners to maintain focus on key accounts.
  • Share best practices and learnings with team members to foster growth.
  • Analyze monthly sales results and manage expenses within budget guidelines.
  • Identify and select programs/services to address customer needs and provide education opportunities.
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, competitor landscape, and product offerings.

Requirements

  • 4-year college degree or equivalent preferred but not required.
  • Excellent interpersonal communications and presentation skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to a changing environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Documented sales experience.
  • Experience selling animal healthcare products and services through veterinary and/or shelter channels.
  • Knowledge of biological products and ability to engage with medical professionals.
  • Understanding of the role of a distribution partner and/or experience working with distribution.
  • Willingness to relocate for career growth.
