Harvest Operations is currently recruiting a Field Operator, reporting to the Foreman. The Field Operator is responsible for executing day-to-day oil and gas field operations while ensuring compliance with company health, safety, environmental (HS&E), and regulatory standards. This role supports production optimization, equipment maintenance, and operational efficiency, while working collaboratively with field teams, supervisors, and engineering staff. This is a contract position based out of the Hay River facility.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • At least 2 years of operating experience
  • Current safety courses – H2S, First Aid, Confined Space, ATV
  • Technical accreditation, diploma, or degree related to the industry / equivalent experience in the field
  • Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office / other computer programs

Responsibilities

  • Follow and enforce all health, safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance procedures
  • Participate in safety meetings, inspections, audits, and incident reporting
  • Prepare hazard assessments, safe work agreements, and contractor site documentation
  • Perform daily operations and monitoring of wells, pipelines, and production facilities
  • Review of SCADA data, downtime reports, and well performance to optimize operations
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production, process, and equipment issues
  • Coordinate facility upkeep, housekeeping, maintenance, and operational activities
  • Capture, analyze, and report production, downtime, emissions, and operational data
  • Maintain accurate operational records and ensure effective shift handovers
  • Identify maintenance requirements and coordinate preventative and corrective work
  • Generate and manage maintenance work orders and support facility upgrades and repairs
  • Support operational efficiency and OPEX cost reduction initiatives
  • Assist with production optimization and continuous improvement activities
  • Train, mentor, and support junior operators and team members
  • Contribute to standard operating procedures, KPI tracking, and MOC processes
  • Collaborate with Foremen, Lead Operators, and cross-functional teams to achieve operational goals
